Story: Empty the Glass
Rama made a lime water and offered to Master one fine summer afternoon
Master: Oh Rama. So nice of you. I see, you are bit nervous today
Rama: Master, I help everyone in Ashram. I never say no to anyone. But I am taken for granted by others. It's not right.
Master: I often see someone asking you to help for some or the other work.
But I've never seen the very act of taking you for granted by someone ! How do I see that?
Rama: Master. You can't see that action. I can experience those feelings inside me
Master: My dear student, please explain,
How can the feelings arise when the necessary action itself has not happened?
It's like getting fully wet when there is no real rain outside! Think!...........
Rama: Master, I get it! It is nothing but my own interpretation and meaning of the event.
Master: Bingo! It is wise to treat the meanings as meanings and not reality
Master: What will you do, If I tell you , there is a poison in that lime water.
Rama: Of course, I'll throw it away.
Master: sure, please empty the glass now and keep it that way!
